Just few days back the industry was buzzing with rumours of Ranbir Kapoor playing a different role. Word oin the street was that Karan Johar had roped in our heartthrob to play the role of Lord Shiva in his the film adaptation of a very popular novel The Immortals of Meluha. To say we were excited is an understatement!
But according to recent developments, Ranbir Kapoor has broken our hearts and says that he will not be playing the role of Lord Shiva. Apparently these were just rumours and the deepest desires of producer Karan Johar and director Ayan Mukerji.
When asked Ranbir Kapoor about it, he said, “Yes, I read it in the newspapers that it is ‘The Immortals of Meluha‘, but that is not true. It is completely untrue.” He further added, “I also read in the newspapers that we are doing that (film on ‘The Immortals of Meluha’) but we are not doing that.” Too bad, isn’t it?
He said, “Ayan is still writing his film. The idea is to make a superhero film but I guess the script is not ready and I am not in a position to say anything.”
Producer Karan Johar has bought the rights of The Immortals of Meluha from the author, Amish Tripathi and the movie is supposed to go on floors by next year. The movie is to be directed by the very talented Ayan Mukerji.
