Ayushmann Khurrana is one blessed Bollywood star, who can act, sing and now, can even handle himself behind the camera.
His soft Punjabi romantic song “Paani da rang” is one of those rare Bollywood love songs which will stay fresh in our memories for a very very long time. The versatile actor is out with yet another song titles “O heeriye” under the Yash Raj Music label.
“I think with independent music, it’s difficult to grab more eyeballs in our country. You hardly get any support from music channels or radio stations. It is not even supported by the narrative of any film,” Ayushmann told.
Well, Paani da rang was not the only track he crooned to. The 28-year-old also sang “Tu hi tu” and “Saddi gali” for “Nautanki Saala”, which starred himself in the lead role.
He was a well known video jockey initially. He later on turned to acting. He reveals that his fame alone lead him to gain recognisition in music.
“I wouldn’ t have got that support if I was not an actor or if my previous songs were not big hits. I think in India, cricket and cinema are two big entities and if you do something good in these two, then you are revered and you get this public support,” says 28-year-old star.
Talking about “O heeriye”, the actor says it is a soft rock track and is on the lines of hit songs including “Paani da rang” and “Saddi gali”. However, the emotions attached to the number is completely different.
“It is different than the other two as far as the lyrics are concerned because ‘Paani da rang’ and ‘Saddi gali’ were more emotional. They were also in the heartbreak zone, but this one is quite happy. It’s when you see a girl for the first time and fall in love and get into a steady relationship,” he explained.
