Preity Zinta has landed in deep legal trouble in connection with a bounced cheque case. The local metropolitan magistrate’s court at Andheri today issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against the Bollywood actress. The case has been registered by script writer Abbas Tyrewala accusing her for issuing a cheque for Rs 18 Lakhs, which apparently bounced.
“The court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Zinta today,” confirmed her lawyer Ratneshwar Jha.
“We will move the court to cancel the warrant or we will move the Bombay High Court and file a writ,” Jha added.
In the past, Preity was already summoned by the Mmbai court for having failed to appear before the court for the fourth consecutive time. Therefore the court on Thursday, Sept 12 issued the non-bailable warrant to her.
Apparently, Zinta is currently out of the country.
